Around a year ago I purchased the oven door glue and the seal I fixed is still as strong as ever. | The Oven Door Glue Kit was excellent – the instructions were straightforward and were superb – easy to follow and correct to the smallest detail – Oven Door Glue has clearly thought of everything and anticipated any problems one might encounter. The hardest part was removing the old glass! I bought two tubes of adhesive just in case. It would have cost £140 for a manufacturer call-out and fitting a replacement glass. It only cost me £40 for a replacement oven door glass plus the cost of the Oven Door Glue Kit! It saved me about £100. Thank you Mr Riddick! |

The glue comes with a little scraper, spreader, gloves, instructions, wipes, and it took me only few minutes to complete the job. | Hi Just to say that I DIDN’T actually use the kit as I ended up getting a new oven door! I actually bought two kits as I was sure one would be too tight for comfort. Eventually it became obvious that the spec had changed and I needed to change the complete door. But I was very impressed with Edmond Riddick as, when I explained, he refunded not only the cost of the kits but the postage as well. Its nice to know that there are good honest firms out there! For most ovens this is a relatively simple task that will take just a minute. We provide a video that covers four of the most common hinge types and how to remove the door which can be viewed at https://ovendoorglue.co.uk/fix-oven-door-glass/. If you find that your hinge is not covered in the video, you are welcome to contact us for further advice – we will normally ask you to email us a photo of the hinge. The same page has further guidance lower down on how to remove the fascia, so that access can be gained to the inner glass. Some of you will be fortunate, and all you will need to do is open the oven door and drop the inner glass into position, but fitting the glass from within the door cavity is the more usual method used. |

Glue is little difficult to apply evenly (plan and take your time) and will smell like salt and vinegar chips from your chipper seriously. Must be the chemicals in the glue. The smell will disappear completely once the adhesive has cured, we recommend allowing 24 hours for the adhesive to cure fully before using the oven. The adhesive, once cured, is completely odourless and will not taint food etc. |

We do expect the adhesive to give a long term repair which is why we often contact people 6 months or so after their purchase and ask them to leave a review.
Whilst your particular use is not really what the kit is for, and it would be more usual for the catch to be held by screws due to the impact as the door is opened and closed, we are always pleased to have feedback where a more unusual repair has been tried as it helps us in providing guidance to future customers.
