Noticed oven door contained condensation and a week or two later noticed the oven door leaking a lot of water (which was the condensation). Found that I could buy a new oven door for £100 or buy new sealent for less than £10. Contacted Ed to buy the sealent as thought it would be best to buy two tubes, just in case. Used all of the two tubes and would recommend buying an extra tube for only £3. Oven door no longer contains condensation which means I am no longer mr grumpy. Thanks to Ed :-) Very good service and very good product -

ovendoorglue: Please note that whilst the kit was primarily intended for gluing the brackets onto the glass – brackets typically glue to the glass then screw to the oven door to hold the glass in place on many ovens, we have noted that many customers are using the high strength adhesive to glue the glass directly to the door where this is the original method of fixing. The high temperature adhesive is perfectly suited to this task but the quantity supplied in a single tube may be insufficient for larger pieces of glass, we suggest larger than 1200mm circumference, (or if there is a recess to be filled). We have provided further guidance for when gluing around the full perimeter of the glass in the advice page advice page, and have now added the option of purchasing an extra tube of adhesive at the same time as the kit for only £3.00 (use the drop down box on the item page to make your selection). You are welcome to purchase the extra tube on a use 2nd tube or return within 14 days for £3.00 refund basis. That way we can help you be sure to get the job done, without the risk of unnecessary cost.

The interior glass on our oven door had been steadily coming loose until it was only secured along the top edge. I had thought I would simply glue the remaining three edges, but the whole thing came off as I was trying to clean it. This was actually fortunate, as it allowed me to clean it properly - using the scrapers I completely cleaned the detached glass and removed all the old adhesive and thoroughly cleaned the door itself. We used two kits, which I found was just enough adhesive. However, I couldn't see how to remove the entire door so we carried out the repair with the door in a vertical position! I made some temporary supports for the glass from 2 bits of scrap timber - the glass rested on these to stop it sliding downwards while we pushed it into place. After applying plenty of force for 10 minutes, we left it for another 24 hours with a heavy kitchen bin leaning against the glass to keep it in position. 3 months later, the repair is still going strong, so I heartily recommend this kit!

| ovendoorglue: Please note that we would strongly recommend removal of the oven door to carry out repairs. Removal is simple once you know what to look for and takes under a minute for most ovens. If you want advice call us on 0800 410 1222 as we can normally explain the simple steps you need to follow over the phone - though it helps if you can be standing by the oven when you ring. | Excellent little kit, just the right amount of glue to complete job. Kit comes with a handy scraper for removing old adhesive and a wipe to give a clean surface for the new glue. I've repaired the internal glass on my oven door and it's still solid several months after the fix. |

This is a great bit of kit. A new grill door was going to cost me over £100, plus the labour to fit it. This is quite easy to use-you will need two people to do it quick enough before it starts to dry. I would have liked a little more product, as it was just enough for my grill dorr, but an oven door is a bit bigger. Has held perfectly so far and looks very secure!

Glass door had come unstuck and kept slipping down, became a pain tried sticking fittings with various glues, waste of time. found this glue pack on internet, bit tricky getting the fittings in exactly the right place but worth it the glue pack worked wonders still there saved getting engineers to do it, would cost an arm and leg.
Oven Door Glue Rating :

ovendoorglue: We constantly hear from people that have used other glues without success. The glue needs to be able to take the expansion of the metal and glass, as well as the heat. If a glue is too rigid, the join will break as the metal and glass expand when they heat up. Some inferior adhesives may start flexible, but will soon harden if they are pushed regularly to their maximum temperature, and the repair will quickly fail. The oven door glue can withstand a constant temperature of 300 C without any noticeable loss of its properties - ensuring a lasting repair.

I used the kit to re-fix the glass which had fallen out of my double/fitted main oven door. This is not what the kit is intended for, but it certainly seems to have done the job! The one tube was enough - there was plenty to stick the glass to the door (32 x 43 cm glass which sits within a lipped return/recess in the door), with a good continous bead, and some left over to "caulk" the gap around the edge of the glass. It's not caulked as much as it was, but it seems to be enough! I made the repair in September 2010, and it's still going strong (touch wood) as I write! If I was to do to this again, I might get 2 tubes, just to get the caulking flush, but I cannot fault the product or the company who were really helpful !
